Naomi Jones is an award-winning children’s author whose books have been published by Penguin Random House, Hachette Children’s Books, HarperCollins and Oxford University Press in the UK and translated into 20 languages. In 2025 she was shortlisted for the Ruth Rendell Award for service to literacy.
Naomi is passionate about making reading accessible and as well as doing events at schools, libraries, and literary festivals throughout the country she’s also worked with organisations including the National Trust, National Literacy Trust, BBC, and helped announce the Oxford Children’s word of the year.
Naomi’s book Thunderboots won the Reader’s Choice Award for Picture Books at the Diversity Awards, the Derby Picture Book Award, and was also shortlisted for The Week Junior Awards. Her books The Perfect Fit, How to Catch a Rainbow, and How to Make a Story were all selected for the Scottish BookTrust BookBug programme.
Naomi spent eight years working in children’s publishing and has spent the last eight years working as a freelance editor and mentor. She was previously the children’s book reviewer for award winning family travel blog Mini Travellers and has been a long-listing judge and mentor for the Jericho Prize.
Naomi lives with her family by the sea in Cornwall. She loves wild swimming, playing netball, and curling up with a good book.
