Jenny Pearson

Jenny Pearson is the award-winning author of eight middle grade novels with Usborne, including her 2020 debut The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates and her latest, The Shrapnel Boys—her first foray into historical fiction.

She has also co-written two books with her agent, Sam Copeland—The Underpants of Chaos and The Attack of the Robot Librarians—both published by Puffin. Writing under the pen name Hartigan Browne, she created the five-book Cluedle mystery series for Macmillan, and she has written three titles for Barrington Stoke.

In 2026, Usborne will publish her next middle grade adventure, How Not to Be a Pirate, while Simon & Schuster will release her first YA novel, Drop Dead Famous, in both the UK and US.
